The old knees crack and pop going up the stairs
the back in the morning refuses to bend
with too much effort
maybe just maybe they could mend
The mind though, an over excited puppy
still young at heart
adult and child years
close rather than further apart

We just put our 17 year old dog down and we had numerous debates before. There was so much live in him and he acted like a puppy at times, yet there was also age that showed.
