Philosophy of Life

Do people have a philosophy of life or is it really more of a high level set of principles they live by?

I was thinking about this myself and struggled to find any structure around this. One principle I try to follow is to treat people as I like to be treated myself but other than this my philosophy seems to be more of a meandering stream rather than a destination specific canal.

  1. My philosophy, if you want to call it that, is found in 1 Peter 3:15 – “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear;”

  2. If not for Christ leading me, I would be a tumbleweed blowing in the direction the wind pushed me, without root or anchor. All the while thinking how smart I was for being a “free spirit.”

  3. My philosophy, gain an understanding of everything. I came to find that you can’t, but living as if you can, will be like living with the mind of a child and a focus of an intellect, clueless and filled with wonder while seeing reality for what it really is. Because of this, things like grief and heartache come to an end.

  4. Personally my philosophy is to not use people as a means to an end, to love unconditionally, to be honest unconditionally etc. More than anything its to be kind, to have empathy, to live honestly with integrity and without shame.
